For officials to be deemed "Members in good standing", they are expected to abide by the C.B.O.A. Constitution, and maintain membership in the Alberta Basketball Officials Association. Members also must:
-have written the most recent version of the Canadian Association of Basketball Officials exam
-attempt to improve their officiating skills each year
-be active in the association by attending all meetings, and voting at those meetings if appropriate.
-complete no fewer than 40 games assigned by the C.B.O.A each year (September to August).
