Aug 17, 2010: ABOA Fall Clinic, Sept 11-12, Edmonton
There will be more info available soon. For now the important considerations are to set aside these dates for Saturday 10:00 am through Sunday at 1:00 pm, Sept 11 - 12 as we are bringing in two very dynamic speakers from the NBA - Violet Palmer & Bennie Adams. For those who attended last year in Calgary, you know that Tommy Nunez was outstanding & the sessions packed with excellent information & training. Violet, who is also the NCAA Div 1 Womens Supervisor for the PAC 10 & WCC, and Bennie Adams will share a wealth of knowledge & experience with us this year.
We have also confirmed Michael Weiland to speak Sept 11 & 12. Michael's a rising star in Alberta, having already earned his FIBA License, worked the CIS Mens National Final all before turning 28! Another outstanding achievement occurred last week when he was offered a contract to the NBA's development league, the D-League. This is a key step to cracking the NBA roster, the first Canadian to do so & a remarkable accomplishment to date!
The 2nd key consideration is to get your hotel rooms booked before AUGUST 28. ABOA has a room block set aside at the Radisson Hotel Edmonton South 4440 Gateway Blvd, close proximity to Harry Ainlay. To book call toll free 1-888-837-7223 or locally 780 437-6010 & mention ABOA. Two queen beds are available at the special rate of $109 + tax. This is also the location of the Awards Dinner & Fireside Saturday evening which is included in your registration. Advance registration by Sept 7 will save you $10. We need the #s for the clinic venue & hotel dinner by Sept 7 so contact Paul Rocca by email at paolino.rocca@scotiabank.com
Registration is $80 by Sept 7 (then $90) and includes:
Officiating Sessions To Improve Your 2 or 3 Person Game
NBA & CIS/FIBA Officials
Dinner, Social & Fireside Chat Saturday Evening
ABOA & CABO Awards Presentations
New Rules, Interpretations and Points of Emphasis
Meet Your Fellow Officials, Evaluators and Educators
*Reminder for All ACAC Officials That You Must Attend a Clinic Every Two Years to Remain Eligible For ACAC Assignments
